In case you were worried...
Cooper has learned how to say, “I want it” just in time for Christmas!
Cooper has learned how to say, “I want it” just in time for Christmas!
Cooper has a new room in our new apartment. He likes it. We drive down the street and he sees cars turning onto our street and he says, “No, my home!” Good stuff. We are moving again pretty soon so its good that he adjusts pretty quick.

Cooper and Georgia at Minnie's House

So happy!

Cherie & Chris celebrated with us!

Happy Birthday Ice Cream!
Cooper’s birthday was a few weeks ago and we celebrated like every good Southern Californian should…at Disneyland! I took Coop early with Melanie, Georgia and Harper and then Cherie and Chris and Daddy came too. Cherie and Chris got Coop the giant Buzz balloon. It escaped but Cherie went to Main Street and hunted down a new one. It was a late night but Cooper had a blast. He totally loved his crown that his teachers at school made for him. He still wears it and its 3 weeks later. Wow. Two whole years have gone by. We are so lucky to have filled the years with so many fun memories. We have an incredible little boy and are loving every minute!

After a morning of house hunting we zipped over to the pumpkin patch. It’s the little one off of the 5 in San Juan. It’s a christmas tree lot too and we drive by it every morning. It’s cute. Cooper and Patrick played on the slide and stuff and then we went over to choose a few pumpkins. How could our kid be any cuter? I hate to be all about how cute he is…but some days Patrick just gets some good shots. So check the pumpkin patch off of the 2009 list. Cooper is going to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween. I can’t wait! Well maybe I can…that’s our moving day and I think it’s gonna be nuts!

Sea World is a great place to spend half a day.
Cooper loves the dolphins! The old dolphin show (they are putting in a new one right now) has this funny part where the audience participant mother falls in the water and swims around. Cooper was saying, “and then the mama” for months. But this time he got up and close and was loving it. He said that he didn’t want to see Shamu…but when the show started he couldn’t look away. I get pretty emotional thinking about the crazy idea that people, regular people, are full on surfing on top of killer whales. On the way home Cooper was doing the hand movements and chant that are supposed to get Shamu to swim around the pool and splash the crazy kids in the first 16 rows. Very cute!
We played for a while in the baby bounce house in the Bay of Play, saw the sharks and penguins and headed out. It was the perfect way to spend 4 hours.
As promised, here is Cooper on his first day of preschool! Despite staying home all of last week with Nana and Papa (with a cold that he couldn’t quite kick) we still had a great drop off this morning. Cooper didn’t even have to sit next to Miss Shelby today…he just went and played with toys. He’s pretty mellow when I pick him up. Painting is a little bit more acceptable and he seems to just be a sweet boy at school. I have heard that he yells no at the teachers when he doesn’t want to paint or probably get his diaper changed, but they say he’s sweet. His school has a bunch of festivities coming up and I think I worked out my parent teacher conferences so that I can swing by the costume parade. We went with Isabel to Downtown Disney to get him his Buzz Lightyear costume so we are set!
So its actually day care. But last week Cooper started at La Cristianita in San Clemente. A lot of my favorite kindergarten kiddos went there and we have been waiting for 9 months for the first day to come. It’s 2 weeks later and we are all happy. Cooper cries a bit when we pull in the parking lot but he now has a routine with Miss Shelby and he has a great time. He refuses to paint or have his hands painted which is funny and probably a bit annoying for his teachers. He likes that they have a park. He loves his lunchbox (yo gabba gabba) and has decided since he sleeps on a cot at school that he needs a big boy bed. We weren’t ready for that one but after a few shopping trips we gave up and got a toddler bed on craigs list. It’s been a crazy 2 weeks…and I haven’t even started on my life….or Patrick’s new job! I guess we are all growing up and living life.
Check it! A very proud moment. Not only did Cooper make it through the 2 hour ceremony (granted we were in a big play room watching it on a tv), but it was official this June…Patrick is a college graduate. Just thought I should share so that we can all be excited about that.
Missing Daddy…
Patrick is on a crazy fun tour with Hello Goodbye and Fun right now. Nate got Pat a #1 Dad keychain and I think its the coolest. If it had been from me it probably wouldn’t be cool, but its nice that our friends get how great of a dad Patrick is. So the tour…It’s basically two weeks around town but poor Cooper loves his dad. He cries for him, which doesn’t totally hurt my feelings…maybe just a little.
Tomorrow is Dominic, Cooper’s cousin’s, birthday. I can’t really hold it together and have nothing but awe for my sister and her family. I feel really sad that Cooper won’t get to have memories with Dom. It’ll probably be a really long time before he understands how high the standard has been set for him. I miss Dominic and wish that we could really celebrate with him.
